English Department
Profile
Welcome to the Department of English
Established in 1972, the Department of English has a rich history of academic excellence and literary enthusiasm. With a strong faculty of four permanent members and three guest faculty, we offer a comprehensive and rigorous program in English literature and language.
Our department is proud to have a vibrant community of over 100 students majoring in English, who are passionate about exploring the world of literature and language. Our students are encouraged to engage critically and creatively with texts, ideas, and cultures, and to develop their skills in writing, communication, and analysis.
Through our undergraduate programs, we aim to foster a deep love of literature, a strong grasp of language, and a critical understanding of the cultural and historical contexts that shape human experience. Our faculty members are committed to teaching, research, and mentoring, and are actively involved in publishing scholarly articles, presenting papers at conferences, and organizing literary events and workshops.
